Letter #6: December 2023

Hello dear friends!

Happy New Year! We are so encouraged and excited to see what the Lord has in store for 2024!

October was a busy month of mission conferences in Michigan and Ohio. We had the pleasure of attending a wedding reception for my mom and her new husband, Kevin! It was a busy month filled with wonderful family time at every stop, which was a blessing!

November, we spent our time in the south. We went to South Carolina for a meeting that was scheduled for November 1st and we had nothing else on our calendar for the month. However, we went down trusting the Lord and finished the month with 3 new supporting churches! We are praising the Lord for how He’s allowed us to meet so many new people and find the right connections along the way! We were able to spend time with our family in South Carolina for Thanksgiving and then make our way back up north for the service of a sweet saint and friend that had passed away.

December, we traveled to Michigan for our home church’s winter meeting. We had a wonderful time being back home with our church before we went straight south to Florida. We didn’t want to keep our rv in the north too long for fear of our pipes freezing.

Along our travels, we have been able to stop at a couple of the camps I (Emily) attended as a young girl. I was excited to show Mario where I grew up and some of my favorite things about camp. We were able to meet with the camp directors to pick their brains. This has been a huge help to us as we navigate what the Lord has called us to do.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers! Our requests currently are (1.) We mentioned in the summer letter we had a relative undergoing cancer treatment. Praise the Lord, she is through the treatments and doing well! However, she has another scan February 12th if you would please pray for the results of this scan. (2.) Traveling with our fifth wheel. (3.) We are praying about a property for sale in Nebo, NC. If you would please pray with us, it seems as if the Lord is holding on to this property for us. We are praying for the right timing of pursing this land. My mom always taught me, “timing is everything” (although, she was referring to me asking my dad for something if he was in a bad mood (lol)) That just keeps replaying in my mind – timing is everything. We want the LORD’s timing in this large purchase. (4.) Filling our schedule for the year and meeting the right people.

We truly have so much to be thankful for. As we mentioned in our last letter, we want to make it a habit of adding our praises. Once again, here are the top 8 praises of this quarter!

1. We had a church randomly send a check to cover the cost of our generator. A $1,000 purchase that we truly needed.

2. We came down south, not knowing many people and only having 3 meetings scheduled for the winter. We attended our first meeting on a Wednesday night and the preacher invited us back for Sunday morning and evening! It was a huge answer to prayer and the best part is that the preacher said God laid it on his heart. I had been praying all day for meetings and for that Wednesday evening service to be a special one.

2b. After the Sunday morning service, the Pastor made an announcement that Mario would be continuing all week and starting a Revival. God was doing something at that church!

3. Bella (our dog) got out of our rv unbeknownst to us. She was hit by a car along the highway nearby. Praise the Lord, she had no broken bones (how?!) and is nearly back to normal.

4. We dropped into a church service one Wednesday night. The preacher knew us, had Mario preach and present and brought us on that night! (If only it could ALWAYS be that easy!)

5. On our way to church, we were at a light getting ready to turn and we were hit from behind. Thankfully, the ball and hitch took it like a champ, and we were perfectly fine but the gentlemen that hit us had a tore up bumper and was leaking fluid.

6. As we made our way up to Michigan for December meetings, one of our outside pipes froze. We are thankful for this learning experience and that the cold weather did not cause the pipes to burst. We were able to remedy that quickly and make it back south without any issues or breakage!

7. Our slides and jacks suddenly stopped working. It was obvious this was not something we would be able to figure out on our own. We were able to find a gentlemen in the area to fix the issue! He ordered the parts and had us repaired in two days! He cut us a huge deal because he wanted to be a help to our ministry and then we had a family member pay our repair bill!

8. Meetings really slowed down during Christmas time. We are so appreciative of our supporting churches who faithfully give each month and help us stay on the road! As well as the extra Christmas “bonuses” we’ve received. They came at the perfect time and we are thankful for how God has used you all in our life and in our ministry.

We have realized that this ministry is so much bigger than us. We are SO thankful for the sweet people of God we have met along the way, the wonderful friendships we’ve formed, the contacts we’ve been given and the church services we’ve had the privilege of being a part of. We are now finishing up our 8th month on deputation and we are seriously in awe of how our Heavenly Father has provided for us Every. Single. Day. Also, how He continuously protects us from some close calls as we are traveling. We cannot wait to see where this year brings us next.

God bless you and Happy New Year!

Mario, Emily and Evelyn Chadinha
